Saturday, January 26th, 2008

REVIEW-2746-54032062a2c1886ce755c30f14fc20d6 We are now stocking both the Mio C620 and C620T Sat Navs. This is the first Navigation device to ship with 3D models within the mapping.

The C620 and C620t will come equipped with a 4.3″ touch screen and MioMap 2008 software which is equipped with a new user interface and a completely renewed main menu. The new software will also be able to split the screen in two to provide more information on the route, and will also let you control other functions of the device such as the MP3 player, and the contact book to let you scroll through your contacts. C620 and C620t will also let users plan their trip before departure but the details of this feature are unclear.

The C620T will have added traffic information over the C620.

The C620T is available for £297.00 inc Vat

The C620 is available for £245.58 inc Vat

Mitac Mio Technology and Navman merge

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

miotm_rgb_logo We are a fan of Mio at Undetected they provide some great low cost GPS units and also provide some very high end units that easily compare to the like of TomTom and Garmin.

One of the other big GPS Satellite Navigation players is Navman who was acquired by Mitac back in February 2007. Mio and Navman are merging brands under the Mio nameplate however Navman will continue to exist here in the UK.

The takeover by Mio is supposed to merge the hardware competency of Mio with the software expertise of Navman and we hopefully see the Mio products improve even further over the next few years.
