Angel Review Overall Rating
|
The
Road Angel speed camera detector uses the latest in GPS technology
combined with a comprehensive database of countrywide danger areas.
The unit (which can be upgraded via a modem) allows users to add
to the database daily, seriously minimising the risk of road traffic
accidents on accident blackspots whilst also reducing the risk of
receiving speeding tickets.
The Road Angel registers your position and then compares it to
the position of accident blackspots, mobile and fixed speed cameras
as well as regular mobile laser sites. Another great feature of
this unit is the manual update; this allows you to record any personal
“Hot Spots” for future warnings.
This is a stylish, straightforward and user-friendly unit; Road
Angel Laser is the modern companion for any conscientious road user
concerned with safety, fines and penalty points.
As with the RadarScout, installing
the Road Angel was absolutely no problem, the unit is powered by
the cigarette lighter and is easily fixed by either suction caps
or Velcro strips. As with the S4 the price is much higher but this
is a GPS and Laser Unit Combined. Unfortunately we had to wait 45
minutes for the unit to begin communicating with the satellite but
this is only during initial set-up, once installed the unit only
takes a few minutes from a cold start.
The Road Angel managed to locate all 11 Gatso Cameras with no problem.
Although it did locate the dummy cameras the laser unit didn’t
alert (as there was no signal for it to detect). Although the Road
Angel forfeited one star for value, it is worth remembering that
this is one of the most popular units currently on the market. The
Road Angel has a respected reputation so maybe it’s worth
paying that little bit extra?
