The
Snooper S6R combines laser and radar speed camera detection with
GPS satellite tracking so that all threats on the road are exposed
minimising the risk of traffic accidents and the chances of being
issued speeding tickets. The S6-R also has a built in modem so updating
the unit is a simple procedure.
The geographical co-ordinates of all 'fixed' speed capture systems
and many officially designated accident 'hotspots' have been stored
on a database which is constantly monitored and up-dated by a data
collection team, this ensures that you are alerted to every potentially
hazardous stretch of road or danger spot both audibly and visually
via a speaker and LCD display. The Snooper S6R comes with a built-in
modem, this allows the unit to simply plug into any compatible telephone
socket and download the database. To ensure that your Snooper S6R
is always efficient, downloads can be performed as often as the
user prefers, subject to a valid subscription.
A free 6 month subscription is included with your purchase after
which a monthly service charge of £4.95 is payable (or £49.50
per annum)
Installation
of the S6R is not quite as straightforward as with the other models
we tested, this however is because of the great design. The laser
detector unit is waterproof and can actually be stored under the
bonnet, which makes the dashboard and windscreen much tidier, the
pack had everything we needed to get started and although “fiddly”
it was worth it in the end.
Again, with the use of GPS and Laser technology combined, the unit
had no trouble with the 11 Gatso Cameras and it didn’t give
us any false alarms, we love the design of this product and it looks
great in the car, it is worth remembering however that all this
fantastic satellite technology and state of the art electronics
come at a price, the RRP price tag on this model is £499.95,
and the end of the day, if you want a very stylish high quality
unit the Snooper S6R is definitely worth a second look.
